This article focuses on description and analysis of the current status on prostitution in Quang Ninh province. The article examines three different aspects of prostitution: 1) The historical factors that led to the development of prostitution; 2) The various policy measures that the local authorities have used in an attempt to solve prostitution; and 3) The shortcomings of these policies. This research shows that within the past 5 years, prostitution has increased in the Quang Ninh province. Although the central government and the local authorities have attempted to prevent and solve the prostitution, these measures have had limited practical effects. In light of this finding, the central government and the Quang Ninh government administration need to reassess this problem.
