Since the open-door innovation in China, the Yao ethnic studies have begun establishing many research and academic institutions and organizations, as well as reinforcing foreign affairs with different international institutions. However the development process of the Yao studies has had slow advances and should be further improved. In addition, it is important to promote more interdisciplinary research on different ethnic groups.
