The aim of this article is to explore marriage and family systems of the Co-ho in Central Highlands of Vietnam, in the Da Knang commune (Dam Rong district, Lam Dong province). Research findings show that the marriage and family of the Co-ho in this area are matrilineal, but this practice is not widespread. In addition to semi-dominant matrilineal practice, there are other members of the Co-ho who practice bilateral marriage. This study also warns and recommends the local governmental authorities to have effective solutions of propaganda and education to the question of the existing close consanguineous marriage that seriously decline both quantity and quality of race.
