Since 2013-2014 years, the Institute of Anthropology has deployed three research themes of transnational ethnic relations in three regions: the Northern mountainous region, the Central Highlands and Southern region. To have a common unity and effective research, three research groups of these themes together have constructed the approaches, methods and analytic framework. By doing so, the holistic, regional, sustainable, and interdisciplinary approaches have focused on. The research methods have included both quantitative and qualitative ones with the tools: questionnaire, in-depth interview, focus group discussion, observation note, and data collection form. The analytic framework have been built on the base of consideration of transnational economic, cultural, social, environmental, and defensive security relations at levels of individual, family, lineage, village community and other organizations
