The Implementation of Illiteracy Elimination and Universal Primary Education in Cho Moi District, Bac Kan Province (1998 - 2011)
Abstract
Educational level is one of the important measures to evaluate community development. To integrate and develop, there is no other way than to foster intellectual enhancement, human resources training, and talent improvement. In a mountainous district with nearly 80% ethnic minorities, many communes in remote areas, poor transport system, including the 8 communes with special difficulties in Cho Moi district (Bac Kan province), the issue of illiteracy elimination and universalization of primary education are urgent issues of socio-economic development. Since 1988, thanks to the efforts of the government at all levels, different professions and people, combating illiteracy and the universalization of elementary education has achieved certain results, contributing to local socio-economic development.
