The Cadong is a Xo-dang sub-ethnic group, mainly living in Quang Nam province. The Cadong culture, including the gong, is regionally specific for the Truong Son - Tay Nguyen culture. However, there are some differences to other ethnic groups, such as the quantity, shape or tone of the gongs... In the Cadong life, the gong is closely related to the beliefs and cultural life of the community, but not reflected in the life cycles-related ceremonies. In every ritual, the appropriate tone of the gongs and clothing are associated with dances. The Cadong people also have customs and taboos regarding the gongs. It could be said that the gong is a valuable symbol of culture in the Cadong life; and over time, these values ​​are still kept and maintained in the Cadong community and in the consciousness of every individual.
