Văn hóa ứng xử của người Dao Đỏ với môi trường tự nhiên qua khai khẩn ruộng bậc thang ở Sa Pa
Tóm tắt
This article presents terraced field practices as a good adaptation to the surrounding environment of the Red Yao ethnic group in Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province where the land is highly slopping and partitioned. The Red Yao’s cultural adaptation to the natural environment reflected in the terraced field practices are considered the “soft” behaviors based mainly on the Yao’s dependence on and adjustment to the natural conditions. These Yao cultural adaptations to the environment include the land with access to water sources where the steep mountain sides are suitable for irrigational systems and the watershed protection. Irrigated fields help protect the land from erosion ensuring long-term use of the land. Red Yao have developed a complex system of behaviors which have been institutionalized into customary laws, regulations, customs and sanctions.
