Một số phong tục của người Việt trong thời đại chống Bắc thuộc

  • Lê Thị Nhâm Tuyết

Tóm tắt

The Vietnamese have resisted assimilation despite 1000 years of domination by northern feudal invaders. The cause of the Vietnamese vitality is evident in their village culture and the maintenance and practice of customary laws. The customary laws of Vietnamese villages are very diverse; however, they mainly focus on self-defense against outside threats, mutual cooperation in production and in times of hardship, as well as maintaining sacred beliefs. Their customary laws have the effect of uniting all the people in a village, and uniting people in one village with those in other villages through partnerships with each other. The author also emphasizes the roles of women in maintaining and practicing the customary laws of Vietnamese villages.
