Rừng cộng đồng với xoá đói giảm nghèo ở các dân tộc thiểu số miền núi Việt Nam

  • Vương Xuân Tình

Tóm tắt

After a review of the literature on community forestry in Vietnam, the author discusses the role of the community-based forest management in poverty reduction in ethnic communities. The author compares informal community forest management with formal community forest management systems. Although, traditional community forests are not officially recognized by the government, they may provide better benefits to the community when compared with formal community forest systems recognized by the state. State implemented community forest systems tend to be limited both spatially and temporally compared to traditional forest systems. Presently, it is unclear how the state run community forest system will impact communities due to limited data. Vuong Xuan Tinh suggests it is necessary to promote forest allocation to communities in combination with more capital investment, technical support to agroforestry practices as well as the monitoring of community-based forest management. Policies that provide adequate financial and technical support to the community forests will promote their preservation and management, and as a result can contribute to improving the livelihood of the community.
