The Reality and the Trend of Social Structure Changes in the Rural of Mountainous Area (A Case Study in Tan Dan Commune, Hoanh Bo District, Quang Ninh Province)

Abstract

By analyzing the changes of income and career structures in Tan Dan commune during the last decade, the author has outlined social structural changes in the first steps of industrialization and the movement towards a market economy. The author indicates the effects of economic changes and industrialization on household incomes and careers in the field of research. The changes have shortened the economic gap between Dao and Kinh people; changes, however, have created socio-economic levels with different incomes, creating new issues for managers as well as the local people.
