The article mentions a number of policies by the Vietnamese feudalist regime from 11th-19th century to ensure security and sovereignty of Cao Bang-Northern border region. In her opinion, the author believed that policies confirmed its power over this land such as bondage, domination of ethnic leaders by marriage relations, honour conferment, salary, involving directly in administration for some dynasties, for example Mac dynasty and some courts, for example Nguyen Dinh Ba, policy on comprehensive socio-economic development in Cao Bang was also issued. So, Vietnamese feudalist policies not only defended border security but also made positive socio-economic impacts in Cao Bang and integrated ethnic minorities into the Vietnamese communities.
