The author tells about the position and role of che (small jar) in the life of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. Che is a small ceramic jar and is linked to the customs of drinking can wine (wine drunk out of a jar through bamboo pipes). It is a valuable property; a thing which can be exchanged and is very sacred in family and village rituals.  Che has become a component of the traditional cultures of the ethnic minority groups in the Central Highlands. It is of both tangible and intangible significance
