General Education towards Ethnic Minorities in Bac Kan Province

Abstract

Bac Kan is a province in the Northern Highlands, where has topographical condition that is very difficult to access, disadvantage socio-economic conditions, and is inhabited by many ethnic minorities. However, overcoming the difficulties, general education of the province gains many achievements. From 1997 to 2005, the province invested to improve school infrastructures, then standardized teachers’ force, and promoted the competition for good teaching and good studying; therefore the educational quality of the province is improved significantly. This is reflected by the increasing rates of students of all levels who pass the graduation exams and who have excellent study results; and the increasing number of persons who obtain high education degrees.
