Some thoughts on Ta Oi ethnic classification in our country

Abstract

The author proposed that although there are some similarities between cultural factors of the Ta Oi and Pa Kok ethnic groups, there are also some differences in residence, village structure, traditional handicraft, folklore, fine art, funeral music, food, house architecture, cultural performance styles, languages and ethnic awareness. Thus the Ta Oi ethnic minority should be separated into two groups: Ta Oi and Pa Koh. This is a more appropriate classification of this ethnic minority than treating them as one group.
