Abstract

The applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) are being widely researched and implemented in education. This study aims to understand the opportunities and challenges of AI applications in self-learning programming among students of the Faculty of Information Technology at Can Tho University of Technology. The research results show that AI has a relatively positive and quite significant contribution (M=3,17) to the self-learning programming process of students in the Faculty of Information Technology. There is a fairly high level of consensus on the ability of AI to support the learning process. Furthermore, the research results also note the creative ability and problem-solving of students after using AI applications in the programming learning process at a moderate level (M=3,00). This indicates that the use of AI applications has provided benefits in terms of knowledge and solving complex problems in students' self-learning programming, but it has not been highly evaluated.
