RISK IDENTIFICATION AND RISK MANAGEMENT MEASURES FOR VIETNAM'S RICE SECTOR

Abstract

The article utilizes secondary data to identify and analyze the risks associated with Vietnam's rice industry. The sector's risk levels are assessed using a risk matrix based on the likelihood of occurrence and the degree of impact on the rice industry. The analysis identifies three major risks significantly affecting the sector: risks from climate change, risks from output price volatility, and risks from carbon credit regulations under the Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Based on this, the article proposes measures to manage these three risks.
