SOLUTIONS TO PROMOTE GREEN E-COMMERCE DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM
Abstract
Plastic waste from E-commerce activities is emerging as a significant challenge to Vietnam's sustainable development goals. This paper analyzes the current situation of plastic waste in the E-commerce sector in Vietnam and proposes solutions to promote sustainable consumption by encouraging the use of environmentally friendly packaging. The study employs both secondary data and a consumer survey conducted in Can Tho City. Survey results indicate that most consumers are aware of the environmental impacts of plastics and plastic waste. Based on these findings, the study recommends the implementation of a “Green Packaging Campaign” model, involving collaboration among stakeholders on E-commerce platforms to promote the use of eco-friendly packaging, reduce dependence on raw materials, and foster green living habits within the community.
