SURVEY ON THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF Dipteracanthus repens (L.) HASSK IN THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS REGION OF AN GIANG PROVINCE
Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the chemical composition of Dipteracanthus repens (L.) Hassk., Acanthaceae family, to provide a scientific basis for its application in medicine and to supplement phytochemical data for the species. The research material is the above-ground part of the plant collected in An Giang, extracted sequentially with solvents of different polarities, then separated by column chromatography and thin layer chromatography, and purified by recrystallization technique. Through modern spectroscopic methods such as NMR, MS, the chemical structures of the isolated compounds were determined. The results isolated and identified three natural compounds, including a triterpenoid (lupeol) and two steroid glycosides (daucosterol and stigmasterol glucoside). This is the first time these compounds have been reported in Dipteracanthus repens in Vietnam. With biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and hypoglycemic ability, the isolated compounds show potential application value in research and development of medicinal herbs and supportive drugs for disease treatment.
