OPTIMIZING COLD CHAIN LOGISTICS USING THE MILP-FMEA MODEL

Abstract
This study proposes an integrated approach combining Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to optimise the cold chain logistics system at Company A. MILP is applied to optimise transportation costs and reduce CO2 emissions across five actual distribution routes. At the same time, FMEA identifies and controls ten significant operational risks. The results indicate that the proposed solution leads to a 12.03% reduction in operating costs and a 1.51% decrease in CO2 emissions. This research affirms the effectiveness of the integrated MILP-FMEA approach in optimising cold chain logistics, thereby contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the company's competitive capacity.
