Abstract

Project-based learning is a teaching method that positively impacts the formation and development of learners' competencies. This study presents a theoretical framework on the project-based learning method aimed at enhancing students' scientific research competence. Based on this foundation, several teaching projects designed to develop the scientific research competence of students majoring in Chemical Engineering Technology have been developed and implemented. Theoretical research methods were used to explore the underlying principles of project-based learning and to construct teaching projects. Experimental methods were employed to guide students in project implementation, observe, record, and assess the progress of each student's scientific research competence. The experimental results indicated that scientific research competence positively impacts students' scientific research competencies. Additionally, the project "Natural Lip Balm" was well-received by consumers, particularly female students in Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City. This project also received awards in several startup idea competitions at both the university and city levels.
