Quantitative determination of β-ecdysteron in the roots of Achyranthes aspera (L.) (Amaranthaceae) (Radix Achyranthis asperae) by HPLC
Abstract
A method for quantifying β-ecdysterone by HPLC was developed as: Column - RP-C18 Lichrospher (at room temperature); Detector - UV (248 nm); Mobile phase – Acetonitrile-formic acid 0.1 %; Flow rate - 1 ml/min; Injection volume - 20 µl). The method was validated to show good linearity (R2 = 0.999), high repeatibility (RSD = 2.86 %) and high accuracy (95.48 - 104.63 %, average 98.68 %). As test for practical application, 4 samples of radix Achyranthis asperae were analyzed. Of them, the β-ecdysterone content amounted about 0.0054 – 0.0505 %.
