Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin whitening activities of the skin-care cream BeautyQueen-HVQY
Abstract
The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin whitening activities of the cream BeautyQueen-HVQY containing Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) R.Wilczeck) peptide hydrolysates were evaluated in vitro. The antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH radical scavenging assay. The anti-inflammatory activity was tested by measuring NO production in lipopolysaccharide-activated RAW 264.7 macrophage. The skin whitening ability was measured by inhibitory availability on melanin production of B16F10 melanocytes. Experimentally, the extracts of the cream (BeautyQueen-HVQY) showed potential antioxidant (IC50 = 715 μg/ml), anti-inflammatory (IC50 = 556 μg/mL) and skin whitening (IC50 = 1405 μg/ml) by DPPH radical scavenging, notable inhibitivity on NO production in LPS-stimulated Raw 264.7 macrophage, and melanin production in B16F10 melanocytes.
