Factors affecting income from growing Xuong longan of households in Chau Phu District, An Giang Province
Abstract
The article discusses the factors that impact the income of Xuong Longan farmers in Chau Phu district, An Giang province. The study collected primary data through direct interviews with 200 Xuong Longan farmers in the area. The estimation results, using the least squares estimation method (OLS), demonstrated high statistical significance and a strong coefficient of determination. Additionally, the research findings indicate that certain factors have a positive effect on the income of surveyed farming households, including education level, number of family workers, farm size, distance from home to the district agricultural wholesale market, access to credit sources, experience in growing longan, ability to apply science and technology, and participation in local agricultural extension work. Based on these results, the article proposes recommendations to help households effectively utilize resources and increase income in Xuong longan production in Chau Phu, An Giang.
