Abstract

The Hanoi - Hai Phong air defense campaign in December 1972 was a creative application and synthesis of combat measures, tactical forms, and fighting methods. The air defense missile force shot down 34 B-52 aircraft, 16 of which crashed on the spot, contributing decisively to the victory of the campaign. That practice left many valuable lessons on the organization, use, and deployment of air defense missile forces to attack strategic bombers in the air defense campaign.
