Abstract

The organization of a counteroffensive campaign against enemy airborne landings in a military region defensive operation must be based on the enemy’s intent, objectives, and scale of airborne insertion so as to be organized appropriately; the campaign may be conducted at small or medium scale under the direct command of the Military Region Command. To accomplish the military region’s operational tasks, it is essential to thoroughly grasp the characteristics of the enemy, friendly forces, terrain, and the operational environment that directly affect the organization of the counteroffensive campaign and the ability of the forces to accomplish their missions.
