VIETNAMESE IDENTITY IN OIL PAINTING BY VIETNAM ARTIST

Abstract

Nowadays, with the openness of the economy and international economic integration, Vietnamese fine art has also had considerable progress. Artists in the country have a chance to reach out to lots of information, have the opportunity to see paintings of foreign artists exhibited in Vietnam, as well as bring the works to exhibit abroad. However, how to acquire new things and retain nation identity? Looking at the paintings, viewers can feel what country this artist has background? Painter's paintings, besides having their own mark, they also bring the soul of their nation something that not all artists can do. How to absorb the elite of Western fine art and retain the distinction of domestic art. This research shows us the process of formation and development of oil painting in the world as well as the penetration of Western painting and oil painting materials into Vietnam, accompanied by the reception and promotion of the strengths of oil painting materials in the orientation of each artist. At the same time, it can show national identity through each work.
