LEARNING MOTIVATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS IN LONG BIEN DISTRICT
Abstract
The article analyzes the research results on learning motivation of junior high school pupils in Long Bien district. The study used questionnaire survey methods and in‑depth interviews on the learning motivation of 360 students from grades 6 to 8 in three junior high schools in Long Bien district. Research results illustrate that their intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation is pretty high. The most prominent is the learning‑to‑ improve aspect of intrinsic learning motivation and consistent adjustment of external learning motivation. Learning to progress is positively correlated with the remaining two components of intrinsic learning motivation꞉ learning to understand and learning to experience stimulation. The internal learning motivation of pupils in the research sample group is higher than the external motivation. Research results also demonstrate that few pupils who are not motivated to learn.
