SOME MEASURES TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE PRESERVATION AND PROMOTION OF CHAM MUSIC HERITAGE IN NINH THUẬN
Abstract
The
music
of
the
Cham
people
in
Ninh
Thuận
‑
especially
the
music
performed
during
festivals
‑
along
with
traditional
instruments
such
as
the
Paranưng
drum,
Ginăng
drum,
and
Saranai
oboe,
represents
a
highly
valuable
intangible
cultural
heritage
within
Vietnam's
traditional
music
treasury.
This
article
proposes
several
measures
aimed
at
effectively
and
practically
preserving
and
promoting
the
value
of
Cham
music
heritage
in
Ninh
Thuận.
It
is
hoped
that,
through
the
unity,
consensus,
and
strong
determination
of
the
Cham
community
in
Ninh
Thuận,
the
close
direction
of
local
authorities,
and
the
collaborative
efforts
of
scholars
and
relevant
agencies
and
institutions,
this
musical
heritage
will
endure
and
continue
to
make
a
positive
contribution.
