CONTEMPORARY DANCE꞉ INNOVATION AND DISRUPTION
Abstract
Contemporary
dance
emerged
in
the
20th
century,
developed
from
many
different
dance
genres
such
as
modern
dance,
ballet,
hip
‑
hop,
jazz,
classical
folk
and
some
other
dance
genres.
Contemporary
dancers
connect
the
mind
with
the
body
through
dance
movements
and
personal
movement
expressions,
where
dancers
and
drummers
are
explored
and
expressed.
Isadora
Duncan,
Martha
Graham
and
Merce
Cunningham
are
the
pioneers
who
established
the
foundation,
they
combined
ballet
(but
without
a
model)
and
modern
dance
(not
strong,
strong
movement).
The
emotions
when
dancing
contemporary
are
relaxed,
not
as
light
and
airy
as
the
model.
Combining
music,
literature,
cinema,
painting...
dialogue
between
dancers
through
movement
brings
messages,
stories
closer
to
fantasy.
Through
the
process
of
formation
and
development,
respectfully
affirming
the
position
in
the
heart
of
fantasy.
The
audience
for
contemporary
dance
performances
is
broader,
those
who
learn
and
watch
are
not
only
professionals
but
also
audiences
who
want
to
seek
and
explore
new
art
forms.
