DEVELOPING TEACHING MATERIALS FOR SOLFÈGE AND MUSICAL NOTATION FOR INTERMEDIATE‑LEVEL VOCAL PUPILS
Abstract
This
article
focuses
on
researching
and
clarifying
the
significant
role
of
solfège
and
musical
notation
in
professional
music
education,
particularly
for
intermediate‑level
vocal
pupils.
By
analyzing
theoretical
foundations
and
assessing
the
current
state
of
teaching
practices,
the
study
identifies
several
key
limitations,
notably
the
lack
of
specialized
curricula
and
teaching
materials
tailored
specifically
for
vocal
majors.
To
address
these
issues,
the
paper
proposes
specific
solutions
for
developing
and
supplementing
teaching
content
suited
to
the
unique
characteristics
of
vocal
pupils.
These
additional
teaching
materials
are
compiled
following
a
structured
progression
from
simple
to
complex,
ensuring
accessibility
for
pupils
while
maintaining
artistic
and
scientific
integrity.
The
outcomes
of
this
study
contribute
to
enhancing
the
quality
of
teaching
and
learning
solfège
and
musical
notation
at
professional
music
institutions,
thereby
improving
vocal
training
programs
specifically
and
music
education
in
general.
