SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF COASTAL AND ISLAND TOURISM IN QUẢNG NGÃI PROVINCE THROUGH REGIONAL LINKAGE MECHANISMS

Abstract

In the context of tourism emerging as a key economic sector in Viet Nam, regional linkage has become an
increasingly important strategy for optimizing resource utilization, reducing intra‑regional competition, and
enhancing socio‑economic efficiency. Quảng Ngãi Province, endowed with notable advantages in coastal and
island tourism as well as geological and cultural heritage, is currently facing significant development
opportunities alongside internal limitations and growing competitive pressures. This study analyzes the
potential and challenges of developing coastal and island tourism in Quảng Ngãi from a sustainability
perspective and proposes policy‑oriented solutions to promote sustainable tourism development through
effective regional linkage mechanisms. The findings emphasize the role of inter‑provincial cooperation in
resource sharing, destination branding, infrastructure connectivity, and governance coordination as key drivers
for sustainable coastal and island tourism development
