Abstract

Performance is a core element that constitutes the comprehensive value of Vietnamese folk songs, not only in
musical terms but also in their cultural, social, and communal spiritual dimensions. This article focuses on
analyzing the concept of performance in folk songs, clarifying the constituent elements of performance, and
examining the relationship between performance and culturalsocial spaces. It also affirms the role of
performance in the preservation, transmission, and promotion of Vietnamese folk songs in the contemporary
context.
