origins, practical design, and cultural symbolism. Influenced by regional fashions such as the Baba‑Nyonya
kebaya, the Áo bà ba has evolved into a functional outfit well suited to Southern lifestyles. Beyond its utilitarian
role, the garment reflects the elegance, resilience, and identity of Southern Vietnamese women. In
contemporary society, the Áo bà ba continues to adapt through modern fashion trends while retaining its
traditional essence, making creative adaptation essential for safeguarding this enduring cultural heritage.
