Abstract
This paper focuses on analyzing emotional intelligence based on the four‑branch model of John Mayer and
Peter Salovey, clarifying its role in the professional activities of students majoring in Vocal Music, Piano,
Graphic Design, and Fashion Design. Drawing on a review of both international and domestic studies, the paper
reveals that emotional intelligence is not only an essential cognitive ability but also a profession‑specific
indicator that enables art students to master their emotions in all professional situations. The study further
proposes a set of specific indicators for each branch of emotional intelligence tailored to each discipline, while
suggesting a new approach to developing specialized emotional intelligence programs for art students, with the
aim of enhancing training effectiveness and meeting the integration demands of creative professions within the
context of Vietnamese education
