CHANGES OF THE VILLAGERS CUSTOMS IN VILLAGES AROUND URBAN AREA

Abstract

Congratulation, marriage, funeral and rituals have always received many arguments from the past. The village events , clans affairs, the common practices and the villagers' beliefs, which are considered to be the traditional things that are former, conservative and argumentative, are not considered appropriate positive. In the process of urbanization and modernization of infrastructure, especially integration of global information, are village customs still profound? This article contributes to clarifying this problem in the villages around Nam An Khanh new urban area - located west of Hanoi capital, parallelling to Thang Long freeway. The study shows the trend of changing customs towards a modern, flexible and positive daptation in the villages around urban area, nowadays.
