OC EO POTTERY

Abstract

The article focuses on analyzing the ceramic products found in Oc Eo in Phu Nam period from the 1st -7th century in the Mekong Delta. In particular, the article analyzes the designs of ceramic pots and jars with and without spout, big jars, krans, reliefs, statues, ceramic pieces and especially patterns on pottery. Thereby, it shows the creative thinking as well as the rich and diversified technical level of ceramic creation. It reflects the process of civilization acculturation of Oc Eo culture associated with the process of import and influence of culture of India and Southeast Asia. In which, indigenous factor helps create products with practical and aesthetic value, contributing to the abundant life of Phu Nam residents.
