DEVELOPING A MODEL OF TEACHING MUSIC LESSONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTSBASED ON THE NEW COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM
Abstract
Different from content-oriented teaching, competence development-oriented teaching isn't a process of providing, transmitting, and memorizing knowledge, but it is a process requiring students to study, explore, practice, apply knowledge and skills into problem solving in learning and living contexts Practice shows that, in the new comprehensive education program, the Music subject does not specifically stipulate each lesson like in the previous program. It only provides the core content together with the requirements for knowledge and skills so that teachers can
motivate active mindset and creativity in program implementation. Therefore, to meet the requirements of the new comprehensive education program in the near future in high schools, music teachers need to plan for class preparation along with classroom schedule arranged in relevance with a specific and clear process, in accordance with the aspirations and vocational orientation of the students.
