SPACE IN VIETNAMESE METAL ENGRAVING PAINTINGS

Abstract

Vietnamese metal engravings had many works that show the feat of visual language. There is is meticulousness in the effective handling of the shaping space in the works. Vietnamese printmaking artists harmoniously combine the elements of lines, colors, shapes, brushstrokes, and materials, which create space in Vietnamese metal engravings. Through the assessment of the spatial factor in metal engraving works in copper, zinc, and stainless steel, it can be seen that space is one of the shaping factors of metal engraving works, bringing new visual art effects, expressing the creative exploration of Vietnamese printmaking artists.
