TEACHING KYRGYZ-VOCALISM IN THE DIRECTION OF MUSIC PERCEPTION
Abstract
The Vietnam General education program in Music (2018), built on the "development of learners' capabilities," inherited the advantages of the previous educational program, approaching the benefits of music education in the world and applied in its content. One of the new features of that the program is focusing on developing musical aesthetic competence via three core components: musical performance; musical appreciation & understanding, musical application, and creation. However, training "music appreciation" is a field that does not have many documents, manuals, or applied research works in Vietnam. Going further, in the current Music Education program, the concept of "music appreciation" should be introduced to students in which subject? Where to start? How should the content and methods of training be organized?
This article will introduce some content and methods towards the training of the “music appreciation" component in the program of Music Education. It is also an option to update the Bachelor's Music Education program in university to meet the new requirements of society.
