THE DIGITAL ERA AND THE POTENTIAL FOR PUBLIC ART DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM: THE CASE OF THE INTO THIN AIR PROJECT AND THE PHUC TAN PROJECT
Abstract
Digitization was born as an effective way to process information quickly. As a result, public art in Vietnam gradually has more space for artists to create, and digitalization has excellent potential to break down the wall separating art from the public. Digitization gives artists the freedom to create and inspire, no longer being confined to traditional institutions. As a result, the public enjoys artwork in a particular and more proactive way. In addition, digitization helps artists solve many problems through the Into Thin Air 2 project the first to apply digitization in Vietnam. Phuc Tan is a project that has not yet been digitized, and the use of digital technology will bring more positive things. Public art projects and digitization play a critical role in sustaining culturalhistorical values and public spaces, bridging the gap between public art and public space. In addition, technology opens up many great opportunities for Vietnamese artists on the global playing field.
