Abstract

Among many ancient Japanese decorative patterns, the water wave pattern (Hamon ­ Water wave) is a pattern containing high aesthetic cultural value, which is used a lot on applied art products from ancient to modern times. Hamon has many
similarities with pattern water wave of vietnam but there are also differences. Based on the characteristics of hamon through graphic language we have research to discover their beauty and some of those differences.
