ISSUES ARISING FROM TORONTO'S “PERCENT FOR PUBLIC ART" PROGRAM IN CANANDA

Abstract

Toronto's
"Percent
for
Public
Art"
program,

launched
since
2010
in
Canada,
is
one
of
the

newest
programs
in
the
worldwide
context

of
"Percent
for
Art"
programs.
Through

studying
the
strategy
and
guidelines

documents
of
the
"Urban
Design"

department
of
the
Toronto
City
Planning,
the

author
found
that
there
are
many
advanced

manifestations
that
may
reflect
a
new
phase

of
Public
Art
in
the
ways
of

contributingattachable
spaces
to
create

strong
connections
for
forms
of
Fine
art
in

contemporary
urban
spaces.
