PRESERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF TRADITIONAL HAND EMBROIDERY
Abstract
Traditional
hand
embroidery
is
the
beauty
of
the
elite
culture
of
the
nation.
Hand
embroidery
appeared
so
early,
from
the
time
of
the
Hung
King
with
simple
crossed
stitches
depicting
flowering
grass.
In
the
seventeenth
century,
Dr.
Le
Cong
Hanh
learned
the
technique
of
embroidery
and
passed
it
on
to
the
people
of
Quan
Dong
village
(Thuong
Tin,
Hanoi)
after
a
trip
to
China.
After
that,
the
hand
embroidery
spread
through
the
villages
and
throughout
the
country,
quickly
asserting
its
position
and
becoming
an
important
profession
in
the
old
society.
At
this
time,
hand‑
embroidered
products
mainly
costumed
embroidery
for
court
costumes
and
worship
products,
which
were
rarely
used
by
the
people.
Today,
hand
embroidery
products
play
an
important
role
in
the
fashion
industry
and
in
art,
the
traditional
hand‑
embroidered
products
are
diverse
and
rich
such
as꞉
embroidery,
worship,
fashion
products,
ornaments,
curtains,
portrait
embroidery...
The
pattern
of
embroidery
profession
transmission
in
recent
years
is
emphasized
and
applied
in
Middle
and
High
Schools.
