THEORETICAL BASIS OF DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION

Abstract

Today, thanks to the rapid development of multimedia technology, video games and the field of graphic novels, as well as the increasing number of illustrations in newspapers and publications, technical illustrations are becoming more and more popular. The popularity of digital illustrations plays an important role in the field of applied arts. Digital illustration has become an exciting medium for artists to unleash their creativity and is an integral part of today's design field. The article summarizes some theoretical foundations of digital illustration, including the concepts, classifications, and comparison of characteristics between digital illustration and traditional illustration in order to clarify the difference in terms of materials, techniques, advantages and strengths of digital illustration. At the same time, the article clearly presents the roles of digital illustration in the current period.
