SEA AND ISLAND IN THE LEGEND OF HUNG VUONG꞉ A CULTURAL GEOGRAPHY APPROACH
Abstract
The development wave of cultural geography research has attracted scholars to place literary phenomena in a rich and unique cultural‑ geographical context and use theories related to human geography to establish a new research perspective. Approaching from cultural geography theory, the article interprets the sea and islands in the legend of Hung Vuong from the layers of cultural landscape and cultural diffusion in the geographical environment of Vietnam's sea and islands. Our predecessors' adaptation and transformation to the sea has formed cultural landscape products and the diffusion between island culture and delta culture. Vietnam's sea and islands are an important presence in legends as a region that preserves the nation's original values and cultural quintessence.
