EIGHTEEN ARAHAN STATUES IN HOI KHANH PAGODA IN BINH DUONG PROVINCE
Abstract
Hoi Khanh Pagoda is an ancient pagoda attached too Binh Duong province culture, the most prominent expression of ancient art on this land. The pagoda is a typical example of ancient architecture and contains unique traditional visual features. Hoi Khanh ancient pagoda is one of the cultural and religious belongings that the immigrants brought with them when they came to the discovered land. And under the right conditions, the pagoda appeared from the spiritual needs of the immigrants in the early days of reclaiming land.
The statues in Hoi Khanh Pagoda are mostly carved from jackfruit wood꞉ nearly 100 wooden statues, including Arahans, each one has a different appearance, painted in red and gold, creating beautiful sculptures with high artistic value typical of the ancient Binh Duong provine wooden sculpture style.
