CULTURAL AND TRADITIONAL EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN THROUGH THE ART OF WATER PUPPET PERFORMANCE
Abstract
The art of Water puppetry has been restored, maintained and developed in recent years. It is not only preformed at festivals but also in extracurricular activities of classrooms and schools. The content of each water puppet show is related to education which is suitable for children, such as praising love for the homeland, humanistic values, guiding children towards their good dreams for the future. This content refers to the art form of water puppet performance to indicate the meaning of water puppet performance art to children through creating characters, stories, and games combined with music and stages, meeting the needs of experiential learning for children as well as combining tradition and mordernity towards a globalized society.
