A RESEARCH ON THE SUZUKI METHOD APPLIED TO GUITAR LESSONS FOR GRADE 10
Abstract
The Suzuki method aims to music education for people at any age level. Initially, it was offered only for violin classes by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. On the basis of his philosophy, many pedagogists flexibly applied it to a variety of musical instrument classes, including guitar [6]. Nowadays, as a result of the 2018 General education programme's emergence, music is gradually brought into high school as a subject to facilitate students' comprehensive development by means of art, aesthetic thinking education and furthermore to make their carreer orientation. Remarkably, guitar lessons become an alternative choice of music curriculum for grade 10 by book Creative Horizons and book Connecting knowledge to life. This article shows our pedagogical solutions to guitar lessons for grade 10, which we offered after doing thorough research on the Suzuki method. By that way, it helps to enhance guitar lessons' quality in high schools and nurse students' interest in this instrument.
