Abstract

Intermediality is a prominent creative mode in postmodern art, allowing artistic expression to transcend the
limitations of individual media and generate novel aesthetic experiences as well as meaningful layers of
dialogue. This article focuses on the theoretical foundations of intermediality as a key element in fostering
dialogue between media forms and between the artwork and its audience. At the same time, it reflects core
characteristics of postmodern art such as fragmentation, intertextuality, and skepticism. From this perspective,
the article conducts an in‑depth analysis of Loving Vincent (2017) as a representative example of intermedial
cinema.
