A DISCUSSION ON THE CONFUCIAN'S CULTURAL BEHAVIOR (THE CASE STUDY OF NGUYEN KHUYEN)

Abstract

As a Confucian intellectual, influenced and  absorbed the spirit of Confucianism, Nguyen  Khuyen respected the community and its values  at first. But later on, as witnessed the country  was invaded without any reaction of the contemporary authority, and the degenerate of  Confucianism, he retired and lived in a secluded  life. Approaching Nguyen Khuyen as a  Confucian, a historical and cultural figure, in  the article, the author has mentioned  some  historical and cultural bases to make a portrait  of the confucian Nguyen Khuyen through his  behavior, and then has discussed the  Confucian's cultural behavior and its value to  the national culture.
